The 37th edition of the International Power Industry Fair ENERGETAB 2024
The 37th edition of the International Power Industry Fair ENERGETAB 2024 is now behind us
During the three-day International Power Industry Fair ENERGETAB 2024, which ended on September 19, 474 exhibitors from 17 European and Asian countries presented a full range of the latest devices, apparatus, vehicles and technologies for both professional and industrial power engineering as well as small prosumers.
It was also a time when many towns in southern Poland were struggling with flooding. Numerous teams of TAURON Dystrybucja employees fought bravely to protect the energy infrastructure in the flooded areas from destruction and to restore electricity supplies as quickly as possible.
The exhibition grounds located at the foot of Dębowiec and Szyndzielnia enjoyed good weather and visitors to the Fair could familiarize themselves with technologies that are extremely useful even in such emergency situations.
During the official opening ceremony of the fair, the president of ZIAD Bielsko-Biała SA – the organizer of the Fair – Mr. Dariusz Mrzygłód, welcomed the numerous guests, assuring that ENERGETAB is the best place and time to present innovative solutions for the energy sector and wishing those present at the Fair to fulfill their expectations related to this event. Then, the honorary guests were welcomed, including Mirosław Suchoń, Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland, Joanna Bojczuk, Member of the Board of the Silesian Voivodeship, representatives of TAURON Dystrybucja SA and presidents of associations and chambers cooperating in the Fair organization. The official opening of the Fair was performed by the Deputy Mayor of Bielsko-Biała, Mr. Piotr Kucia.
During the ceremonial inauguration, awards were also presented in the Fair competition for a particularly outstanding product, granted by the Competition Committee chaired by Prof. Jakub Kupecki – Director of the Institute of the Power Engineering – National Research Institute (the list of winners is available on the website www.energetab.pl.)
For the numerous visitors to this year’s ENERGETAB trade fair, it was an excellent opportunity to get to know and compare an entire spectrum of presented specialist power machines and devices, transmission and distribution system equipment, control and measurement equipment, automation and steering equipment, energy-saving industrial and road lighting, IT and telecommunications systems used in the power industry and innovative network technologies.
The range of devices and technologies related to renewable energy sources or electromobility presented at the Fair is growing rapidly year by year. There was a significant number of suppliers of various sizes of battery energy storage devices, often offered together with charging points for electric cars and additional power supply from renewable energy sources.
As every year, the Fair was accompanied by conferences organized by the industry partners of the Fair. On the first day of the Fair, the Polish Power Transmission and Distribution Association (PTPiREE) organized the Energy Distributors Forum devoted to the role of DSOs in the energy transformation process and the challenges resulting from the implementation of new technologies for generating and storing electricity.
During the two-day Forum of Professionals of the Polish Energy Storage Association, the topics discussed included legal regulations, business models, the hydrogen market in Poland as well as technical and business aspects of energy storage facilities installed by the industry.
The conference organized by the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP) entitled “Energy Today and Tomorrow” had an interesting course. The President of SEP – Prof. Sławomir Cieślik presented the conclusions from the Congress of Polish Electrical Engineers that took place in June, and then an expert debate was held on various aspects of energy transformation in Poland.
In the hall of the Szyndzielnia Hotel there was an exhibition entitled “Polish Electricity – from the Partitions to the Beginnings of the Third Polish Republic”, which on 24 boards shows the contribution of Poles to the development of civilization in the broad sense of electricity.
Three special zones were designated in the open exhibition areas of the Fair:
- a) “RES Zone”, where demonstrations of devices related to the generation of electricity from renewable sources were held;
- b) the “Electromobility Zone”, which promoted suppliers of electric cars, hydrogen-powered buses and manufacturers of charging stations for these vehicles;
- c) “Practical Demonstration Zone – SPP”, where demonstrations of energy technologies were held, such as selected live working technology, a mobile 110 kV bay, installations of the latest through-wiring joints and heads, as well as cold-shrink joints and fibre optic welding demonstrations.
The pavilion of the Polish-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, which promoted products of Swiss companies at Energetab for the fifteenth time, was visited by Fabrice Filliez, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Poland, who emphasized the importance of the ENERGETAB fair for the promotion of high-quality products of Swiss companies, particularly useful for the Polish energy transformation.
The organiser extended special congratulations and thanks to long-standing ENERGETAB exhibitors, who celebrated significant anniversaries during the Fair for their long-standing cooperation. At this point, it is appropriate to modestly inform that the organizer of the ENERGETAB fair – ZIAD BIELSKO-BIAŁA SA – celebrated the 50th anniversary of its activity on the eve of the fair. Short memories captured in photographs from this half-century of cooperation with the power industry could be viewed at a special exhibition located in the hall of the administration building.
We wish to thank all the exhibitors and visitors as well as participants in conferences and business meetings for taking part in this year’s Fair. We wish you great results of this participation and invite you next year to the next 38th ENERGETAB fair, which will take place on September 16-18, 2025.
